The information in this article applies to: MS SQL Enterprise Manager DETAILS This error indicates that Enterprise Manager cannot make a connection the remote SQL server. Check the followings Make sure you are using MS SQL Enterprise Manager 2000.  SQL 7.0 Enterprise Manager is not compatible.
